GSMP Community Announcements
Change Requests 08-109 and 08-112 came out of our work in the Modular Item Workgroup. These will eliminate 3 item data extensions in a future Business Message Standard by moving the attributes into either the core message or a more appropriate extension.
CR 08-111 was submitted by SA2 Worldsync to support the European Union WEEE requirements for Metro's GDSN implementation.
CR 07-223 represents the last round of removing all Fast Track and New Item Form attributes previously approved as interim standards. These attributes will be moved to core item, to another appropriate extension, added as values to existing code list, moved to more appropriate messages (price, party, healthcare) or removed. This will result in a permanent home and an offical standard for those attributes being retained.
Going forward, attributes in Fast Track represent an interim implementation and will always have the formal solution made available when approved. They will then be removed from Fast Track upon publicaiton in a Maintenance Release or major deployment of the Business Message Standard. It will no longer be necessary to submit a second CR to move from an interim standard to the permanent standard.

If you want to understand the basic steps involved in the GSMP and the organizational structure utilized to support it, the GSMP Users Manual is your definitive source of information. Over the last two years we have been working with our community to further improve the GSMP. These improvements are now fully documented in the new release of the GSMP Users Manual. Some of the improvements include:

Public Review: GDSN BRG CR 07-375 GDSN MR3 Trade Item & Price Sync Validation Rules
The 14 Day Public review has begun for GDSN MR WG CR 07-375 for the MR3 Trade Item & Price Sync Validation Rules. This Public Review contains a link to the original CR - The GDSN MR3 Trade Item & Price Sync Validation Rules spreadsheet - details: changed rule 416 and added 442, 443, and 444. The Public review has begun for CR 08-109. CR 08-109 will eliminate the current Hardlines and Office Supplies item data extensions. This proposal will move the attributes included in these extensions to other messages including the core trade item and other existing extensions.
