GDSN Inc. Business Bulletin

Deployment Dates

GDSN Maintenance Release 3 (MR3) is scheduled

- to roll to Beta on 28 February 2009

- to go in Production on 28 March 2009

GDSN-certified Data Pools working with their trading partners should begin development now to meet

these dates. This is a mandatory maintenance release for all data pools.

Scope MR3

All included Change Requests (CR) have Level of Impact (LOI)1 1 or 2.

The MR3 is composed of three aspects:

GDSN MR Work Group and Architecture Team

The GDSN MR Work Group defines the scope of maintenance releases, builds Business Message

Standards (BMS) for approved business requirements from the GDSN Business Requirements Group

(BRG), and delivers the solutions to the various MRs that update the GDSN with enhancements.

Membership is comprised of GDSN users, GS1 Member Organisations (MO’s), and GDSN-certified

Data Pools.

The Architecture Team has proposed the deployment dates to GDSN, Inc. This team advises GDSN

Inc. and GSMP on technical design and implementation, timelines and operations associated with

Business requirements submitted by the GDSN User Group and operations of the existing network.

Membership is primarily comprised of GS1 MO’s and GDSN-certified Data Pools.

The GDSN MR Work Group and the Architecture Team are open to all GDSN users.

1 LOI1 is defined as code list additions or Business Solution Document (BSD) documentation only. LOI2 is defined as

backward compatible changes only including, adding new optional attributes, changing attribute cardinality from

mandatory to optional, changing multiplicity from 0..1 to 0..* or 1..1 to 1..* and adding a term to a code list.
