GDSN Workgroup Survey

Below are survey questions for the GDSN Hierarchy Withdrawal workgroup. This group is trying to develop a more efficient way fro suppliers to notify retailers that an item is being removed from the network. Today the supplier must send full item records for items they are deleting, and these records must pass all of the normal data validations.

 

To determine the impact to retailers or making a change to the process, the questions listed below have been asked by this group. If you have any input to provide to this process, please answer any appropriate questions. Your replies can be sent directly to me, or to the GDSN workgroup manager, Patrick Roy.

 

1.     Do you utilize the delete message?

·         Is it integrated like other messages?

·         Is it informational only?

 

2.     If utilized what is the impact:

 

·         Removal of links to logistical units and associated attributes.

o    Is there a warehousing Impact?

 

·         Removal of links to higher orderable GTIN units, such as cases, inner packs, etc.

o    Is there Buyer Impact?

 

·         Merger/Acquisition removal to re-engage on items previously sourced from another Information Provider?

o    Contracts?

o    Invoicing?
