GDSN Trade Item Implementation Guide: Fresh FoodsThe Trade Item Implementation Guide Work Group is presenting an updated topic to be included in the GDSN Trade Item Implementation Guide: Fresh Foods . The original Trade Item Implementation Guide was delivered in January of 2007. The guide's objective is to supplement the formal GS1 GDSN standards with advice on their implementation and operation. It is in no way normative or definitive and is not a standard. It includes implementation guides for a variety of the more complicated issues. It seeks to increase consistency and ease of implementation by explaining the standards and providing real-world examples. This public review is only for the updated Fresh Foods topic. Once approved it will be replace the existing Fresh Foods topic in the GDSN Trade Item Implementation Guide, which is located on the GS1 website at: http://www.gs1.org/services/gsmp/kc/gdsn/index.html. Since this is not a standards document, it will not go through an eBallot.  All comments are due by no later than 18-Jan-2009.

It is in no way normative or definitive and is not a standard. It includes implementation guides for a variety of the more complicated issues. It seeks to increase consistency and ease of implementation by explaining the standards and providing real-world examples. This public review is only for the updated Item Futurisation topic. Following the successful pilot of Item Futurisation within the GDSN Network, a simplification of the requirements was agreed.  This takes effect with Maintenance Release 3 of GDSN, in production on 28-March-2009.  The Item Futurisation topic in the Trade Item Implementation Guide should reflect that simplification, by removing all reference to the attribute replaceTradeItemID. Once approved it will be replace the existing Item Futurisation topic in the GDSN Trade Item Implementation Guide, which is located on the GS1 website at: http://www.gs1.org/services/gsmp/kc/gdsn/index.html. Since this is not a standards document, it will not go through an eBallot.  All comments are due by no later than 18-Jan-2009.

WO #08-000212, GS1 Mobile Com Extended Packaging Pilot Guideline    This public review is for the draft GS1 Mobile Com Extended Packaging Pilot Guideline. Please consider this the formal review to approve the document. This work represents the contribution made on many conference calls and at the physical meeting in Koln Germany. The purpose of this document is to provide an implementation guide to help all stakeholders (brands, mobile phone manufacturers, carriers, solutions providers) to build extended packaging pilots that are interoperable. The solution will be based on existing GS1 global standards and where standards do not exist; gaps will be indentified for subsequent standardization. The document will provide a simple way for consumers and businesses to interact based on an open infrastructure and open standards. As a reminder, Extended Packaging for the scope of this project is the ability to retrieve additional information about the product through mobile devices.   Please submit all comments to Dipan Anarkat at Dipan.Anarkat@GS1.org using the included comment submission form by no later than 15-Jan-2009 (end of public review).
