GSMP eBallots
For voting members of the GSMP GDSN Business Requirements Group, two new ballots have been posted in the Community Room.
CR 08-269 Make CIN Trade Item Marking class of attributes optional
The GDSN BRG CR 08-269 eBallot begins Jan-21-2008 and ends Feb-9-2009 extended due to GDSN User group meeting conflict. CR 08-269 Proposal: Change the cardinality from "mandatory" to "optional" of the Trade Item Marking class of attributes contained in the GDSN Catalog Item Notification (CIN) message. This eBallot contains a link to CR 08-269 in the CR system, and the Business Requirement (See Tab CR 08-269). Please cast your eBallot 4 PM ET on Feb-9- 2009 (Close of eBallot).

CR 08-272 Add Attribute for Tax Agency Name
The GDSN BRG CR 08-272 eBallot begins Jan-21-2008 and ends Feb-9-2009 extended due to Dallas GDSN User group meeting. CR 08-272 Proposal:
(1) Add additional optional attribute for Tax Agency Name as a string of 1 to 70 length. This is to identify the name of the agency associated with a type of duty or tax or fee applicable to the trade item expressed. This will vary by target market.
(2) Create as a guideline the suggestion to use DE3055 (already used in GS1 EANCOM standard) to populate Tax Agency Code. The value of ZZZ can be used when a tax agency does not exist and in this case the Tax Agency Name can be populated.
(3) In order to fill a short term need an AVP solution for Tax Agency Name will be created pending the full solution in the next available GDSN Release. If approved an associated TIIG effort will give guidance on when to use the Tax Agency Code and the Tax Agency Name.
NOTE: It is expected that the solution will be introduced in two phases. First, the new optional attribute for Tax Agency Name will be introduced. Second, at the next major release of GDSN Standards, the Tax Agency Code will be limited to the code values in DE3055, including the value "ZZZ" for Undefined, which can be used in conjunction with the Tax Agency Name to specify the tax agency.
