The care delivery process involves a series of Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) mechanisms to uniquely identify the patient, the care giver and the healthcare product(s) at the delivery of care to assure patient safety. Global standards are being created for the uniform AIDC marking and labeling of healthcare products. The objective of this work group is to complete the standards for identification and marking/labeling for the patient and care giver to enable AIDC applications for the care delivery process as well as unique patient identification for other purposes, such as Individual Electronic Health Records (IEHR).

Call-To-Action: GDSN Trade Item Implementation Guide Work Group

The GDSN Trade Item Implementation Guide Work Group has been meeting for over 3 years and has produced 9 issues of the GDSN Trade Item Implementation Guide. This Call-To-Action will allow the Work Group to continue to meet from July-2009 through Dec-2009 and to develop subsequent issues of the GDSN Trade Item Implementation Guide.  Another Call-to-Action will be distributed in Dec-2009 if additional work is required.

Public Review: eCom BRG: WO 09-105 & 09-106

Spanish retailers use two different types of reception advice (RECADV). RECADV with only accepted products and RECADV with only products that have discrepancies between number of items received and accepted and number of items despatched. Suppliers need to know what type of RECADV are receiving because the data integration is different. This business requirement already exists in the BMS for Receiving advice today, the purpose of this CR is to have the same functionality available in EANCOM. Please review and make any comments by 28-June-2009 EOB (Close of Public Review).
