Public Review: Missing Identification Resolution Technical Implementation Guide - WO 08-110
The Public review for the Missing Identification Resolution Technical Implementation Guide begins 25-June-2009 and ends 24-July-2009. The Missing Identification Resolution (MIR) working group's Implementation Guideline is created to address situations in which a tag is broken or issing in the Supply Chain. The guideline also addresses what to do if the brand owner product is not willing to tag their products, even though further downstream tagging is required. The group found that presently there is no solution within the published standards for assignment of a serial number to a SGTIN by another party other than the brand owner. Therefore, they have written a Change Request, which will be submitted into the GSMP standards development process. To help with the change request, MIR gathered business requirements that affect serialization. This group has included members from all of the GS1 communities including GSMP and EPCglobal Please make your comments in the Implementation Guideline spreadsheet using the cRoom comment feature by 4 PM ET 24-July-2009 (Close of Public review).
