CR 09-088 Public Review, GDSN BRG
The purpose of this CR is to establish an error message to be sent by a Recipient Data Pool from a Source Data Pool informing them of the reason for the message rejection. Proposal: Add additional validation rule to support section 5.1 of the v2.1 Operations Manual. Section 5.1 states:"Code list Validation - The following rule allows optional rejection of codes: The recipient has the right (but not the obligation) to reject values for all attributes for which a standard code list applies, if the value in question is not a member of the code list that applies to that attribute." There is a need to create a validation code and value for when this occurs and the datapool rejects the message based on an invalid code list entry. The validation rule may possibly have just one number for all violations of all code lists. It may be more complex to have a number for each code list used. This public review contains a link to CR 09-088 in the CR system and the Business Requirement Spreadsheet.
GS1 Modeler's Note: There is an existing validation rule that may just need to be clarified. 105: Values must comply with attribute data type as defined in the current Business Requirements Document. This existing rule can be interpreted as just covering data types (String, Code, integer) and field lengths or can be interpreted to include code list values which are part of the data type rules. CR 09-187 Public Review, GDSN BRG
Proposal: Add an optional non Binary attribute to denote if an item carries a Child Nutrition label in accordance with USDA Guidelines. The USDA Child Nutrition (CN) Labeling Program provides food manufacturers the option to include a standardized food crediting statement on their product label. Labels must be approved by USDA, FNS prior to use and manufacturers must have quality control procedures and inspection oversight that meet the FNS requirements. Products produced in accordance with the CN Labeling Program are generally purchased by foodservice providers for FNS meal programs. http://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/cnlabeling/default.htm . We would like this to be a fast track attribute. This public review contains a link to CR 09-187 in the CR system and the Business Requirement Spreadsheet.
