CR 09-179 Add the value of Gluten Free to the Diet Type Code List
Adds the value of Gluten Free to the Diet Type Code List. Placing the value here will specify that the item can be used in a gluten free diet. Simple Level of Impact 1
NOTE: A separate CR will be added to make a general statement to any code lists that need a caveat about definitions of various allergen free ingredients which always contain trace amounts of the ingredients for example Gluten is naturally occurring and regulation very by country etc. as to the definition of Gluten free. By adding statements that apply at the code list level we will not need to add these caveats for each code definition. See CR 08-124 for an example of caveat entered as an example.
CR 09-172 - Change the definitions of Height, Width, & Depth to point to Package measurement Rules
Changes the definitions of Height, Width, and Depth to remove erroneous measurement advice. These definitions should not refer to how to measure as this is the fully defined in the GDSN Package Measurement Rules. NOTE: This CR is based on Non GTIN Logistics Unit Extension for measuring pallets that don't have a GTIN.
A. Depth- The depth of the unit load, as measured according to the GS1 Package Measurement Rules, including the shipping platform unless it is excluded according to the PalletTypeCodeList code value chosen.
B. Height- The height of the unit load, as measured according to the GS1 Package Measurement Rules, including the shipping platform unless it is excluded according to the PalletTypeCodeList code value chosen.
C. Width- The width of the unit load, as measured according to the GS1 Package Measurement Rules, including the shipping platform unless it is excluded according to the PalletTypeCodeList code value chosen.
Simple Level of Impact 1
GS1 Modeler's assessment Notes:
As this is a document change this is a simple level 1, but please note the following issues:
1. We have been through these definition changes before for dimensions and they bring much debate. The current definitions were added after much debate.
2. The CR speaks of Height, Width and Depth, but the examples for the replaced definitions attached to the CR talk of LogisticsUnitWeightAndDimension which is just one instance of these dimensions. Are we changing all dimensions or just the ones in the worksheet.
3. The definitions provided in the worksheet define the term by repeating the term which is against our best practices: for example Depth = The depth of both the unit load (content) and the platform upon which the goods are carried, if there is one. I recognize the point though that having to define depth is what potentially puts us in conflict with the GDSN Package Measurement Rules if not done right.
Maybe a better idea is to provide a high level definition of each dimension type and then reference the GDSN Package Measurement Rules in the definition as a source for better detail.
CR 09-171 - GPC Attributes and Attribute Values
Removes the constraint on number of GPC Bricks attributes out of the schema and 09-198 makes that restriction 25 via validation rule. CR 09-171 & 09-198 were bundled with GDSN BRG approval on August-11-2009. Currently the CIN schema limits the assignment of GPC "Brick" attributes to a maximum of 7. This constraint will be removed from the schema. A GDSN validation rule will be implemented to allow up to a maximum of 25 GPC "Brick" attributes to bee passed in the CIN message.
