The purpose of this change is to modify the definition of Primary Packaging in the Glossary of the GS1 General Specification to avoid misinterpretation by industry and regulators by clarifying the marking intent with regards to the present phrase in the definition "...in contact with..." as it applies to primary packed items that may require non sterile or a sterile packaging system. The BCID BRG is posting this GSCN for WO# 10-000063 Healthcare GTIN Allocation Rules for public review. The REVIEW PERIOD STARTS on Thursday, 29 April 2010 and ENDS on Friday, 28 May 2010. The purpose of this change is to change the current version of the Healthcare GTIN Allocation Rules to bring the document in line with the latest version of the General Specification (v10,i1,2010)and to ensure that any updates made in the General Specification are properly maintained within the Healthcare GTIN Allocation Rules document. Also a direct link between the Healthcare GTIN Allocation Rules document which is on the web and the General Specifications is being added.
