The eBallot for CR 10-113 begins June-9-2010 and ends June-25-2010 extended due to U-Connect conflict.  CR 10-113 Add "USDA - US Department of Agriculture" to the GDSN Organic Claim Agency list and the PackageMarksEnvironmentCodeList. This addition will allow products qualified and/or labeled with the USDA organic certification mark to be identified as such in the GDSN. Adding the value will decrease the current risk that the organic certification of products published in the GDSN is not being accurately described. US legislation, The Organic Foods Production Act of 1990, authorizes the US Department of Agriculture to certify as organic food and fiber products that meet the requirements of this Act and implementing regulations. Adding USDA as an organic claim agency and PackageMarksEnvironmentCodeList will allow suppliers of products that qualify for and/or carry this marking to be identified in the GDSN.
