10-187 Public Review, GDSN BRG

The 30 day Public Review for CR 10-187 begins Aug-5-2010 and ends Sep-7-2010 extended due to USA Holiday. Updated Proposal Aug-2-2010: Allow the product to be identified as being a flammable aerosol by adding the following attribute: "flammableAerosolContainmentCode" - Definition: Determines whether the propellant in the trade item is an aerosol and whether the aerosol is considered flammable.
Codes need to created for the following values:
• FLAMMABLE_AEROSOL = Item is an aerosol which contains flammable gas
• NONFLAMMABLE_AEROSOL = Item is an aerosol but does not contain flammable gas
• NOT_APPLICABLE = Item is not an aerosol
This is optional and not repeatable.

In addition the trade item requires an attribute for the weight of the flammable gas as a measurement value:
"flammableGasWeight" - Definition: This is the weight of the flammable gas in the trade item. Note: Per submitter this is expressed in the UK in grammes This attribute is required if the item is an aerosol which contains flammable gas (FLAMMABLE_AEROSOL). This is optional and not repeatable.

These attributes are requested as AVPs as well. This Public review contains a link to CR 10-187 in the CR system and the Business Requirement Spreadsheet. Please make your comments by 3:30 PM ET on 7-Sep-2010 Close of Public Review. Simple Level of Impact 2 - Link to CR 10-187 Public Review

The GSMP Serial Number Replacement of Supply Working Group Survey

Additional use cases and support are needed to help the Work Group develop global solutions that can be used across supply chains. So far, we have identified two use cases:
1. Replacing damaged bar codes or RFID tags that contain serialized data or,
2. Supply serialized bar codes or RFID tags anywhere in the supply chain, if the manufacturer has not initially provided serial numbers on items initially, and assuming that the trading partner relationship allows this. In the case of healthcare, certain restrictions apply.

Complete the online survey to support these use cases or to provide additional ones. To learn more and to access the survey, click here

The survey has been extended until September 15th.  For questions regarding this survey, please contact Mark.Frey@GS1.org.
