New GS1 Solutions for Your GS1 Portfolio of Standards Thanks to Two Newly Ratified GS1 EPCglobal Standards

Two new standards have just been ratified by the GS1 EPCglobal Board:
1). Core Business Vocabulary 1.0 (CBV 1.0) is an important enabler of Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS). It specifies a standard language to be used relative to a specific EPCIS event, so that trading partners can share data about an event and interpret the information in the same way.
2). Low-Level Reader Protocol 1.1 (LLRP 1.1) is the new upgraded version of the GS1 EPCglobal software interface standard that is used in RFID readers. It uses features in the latest version of the air interface protocol for UHF Class 1 Gen 2 RFID tags version 1.2.0 and is also backward compatible with LLRP 1.0.1, the last ratified version.

GSMP Process Change Notification (PCN): Working Group Membership Requirements

The PCN to establish Working Group membership requirements has completed community review without comment and is approved by the Process Oversight Committee (POC). This PCN establishes membership minimums, different from voting minimums, for GSMP Working Groups. These minimums ensure a relevant representation of supply chain roles that in total serve to deliver a globally applicable standard as progressed by a Working Group for ratification. Add the following code in EANCOM messages:
  - WO 10-234: The total monetary amount which includes the Value Added Tax (VAT).
  - WO 10-235: Number assigned by ultimate customer to identify relevant article.
  - WO 10-240: An allowance related to a regulatory requirement

  - PPD: Prearranged Payment and Deposit
  - PPP: Prearranged Payment and Deposit plus addenda

10-287 eCom Technology Group (eTG) Public Review - AS2 Disaster Recovery Guide

The Public Review for Change Request (CR) 10-287 begins Oct-21-2010 and ends Nov-20-2010. CR 10-287 Proposal: This AS2 Disaster Recovery Guideline contains implementation procedures, diagrams of AS2 Disaster Recovery systems, and various scenarios. The scenarios include real life examples of various disaster recovery systems with transaction volumes varying from mid-level volumes to high level volumes. Recovery considerations and recommendations are discussed with positive and reactive steps included. Included as appendices are a glossary of terms and a FAQ.
