B2C Digital Coupon

The kick off meeting for the GS1 B2C Digital Coupon standard just kicked off. The meeting reviewed the overall objective to create the standards of information that needs to be exchanged to create, process, validate, security, and redemption of digital coupons. While this project does not discuss time lines of implementation, we are just starting to define what information that is required to enable the process of digital coupons. Process Oversight Committee

A change
in GSMP was communicated for work done by external groups in the creation of Business Requirements. Groups like the Consumer Goods Forum has developed the business requirements for Sustainability Metrics prior to the GSMP process (Click here for more information: Sustainability Metrics). By incorporating their findings and documentation, this will shorten the time frame to get standards created. Normally the creation of Business Requirements was a process done by GS1. This change will remove 2 steps from the current process GSMP for larger projects. It does not change the minor change request process.

The next release of MR5 is available for comments. This release will contain new attributes, new extensions Plumbing, Books, Chemical Ingredient, new validations and also the move of some old extensions into core Trade Item
