GPC Fresh Foods
GS1 DE has a change request to help the German market migrate to Global Product Classification (GPC) system for Fresh Foods/Grocery. The issue they are facing is how to keep the information they have today to support their trading partners as they migrate. The main issue arising is that there is a need to do one of 3 things to support the migration.
1) Split the GPC bricks into 2 bricks
2) Use GPC brick attributes
3) Use GDSN attributes
GS1 GPC has surveyed the general community and there seems to be a split of preference between 3-GDSN attributes and 2-GPC Brick attributes. The 1- split of GPC bricks has major impact to the rest of the community.
The GPC Fresh Foods sub-group will be sending an additional survey to the community to find out the impact from a cost and resource for the 3 options.
Results of Changing Display Unit Indicator Process
Results from the survey determing the best process to use when changing the attribute Display Unit Indicator. The initial results show that there seems to be a general preference to either send a "Correct" message or perform an "Unpuplish/Republish". Futher investigation of the details shows that GS1 Member Organization and Data pools seemed to prefer an "Unpuplish/Republish" process. And Trading Partners and GS1 MOs prefer "Correct" process. Here is a link to see the results of the survey
