GPC
There will be new Digital GPC's coming. Best Buy put in a change request to support Digital download materials. The CR-11-053 would cover digital products such as eBooks, Music, Software, Games, etc. The new GPCs are available for Public review and can be viewed here. Digital GPC

Unique Device Identification (UDI) for EU
As part of a common goal within Healthcare the marking of a Unique number on each and every Medical Device is becoming the standard globally. The EU Commission had a goal of all countries moving toward the marking of each item and additionally storing the information within the EU database. The EU Commission will be recasting this program as similar initiatives are going on in the US, Brazil and China. Here is a link from a presentation by European Commission presented at GS1. If you are interested in this initiative you should join the GS1 Healthcare group and join the Public Policy sub-group. Information here.

Level Below Each
Just a reminder, since this group is under the new Intellectual Property Agreement, I will not be able to give information about the activities going on until we reach Public Review period. The group is defining items like 1 pill, 1 cookie/biscuit in a package, 1 band-aid, etc. If you are interested in helping define the proper identification process, what data is needed, which bar coding data carrier should be used, supply chain scope, etc. You should join this group.
