GDSN Data Quality BRG Request for Input

Please help review Gabriel Sobrino following Data Accuracy BRG GDSN PMR CRs 10-099 & 10-100 Data Accuracy BRG Email Sub-teams - Please review and send comments to gabriel.sobrino@gs1.org & CC justin.childs@gs1,org :
1. CR 10-099 Submitter Gabriel Sobrino
Proposal: 12-Mar-2010: Expand section 4.5.3 of the GDSN Package Measurement Rules to include other products that have a structural ‘base’ and a pyramidal or conical shape and should be measured according to the same principle applied to stand-up pouches. An alternative would be to develop a new section on the rules with the same logic for such items, though for simplification purposes, ideally an expanded section 4.5.3 would suffice.
NOTES from Mar-12-2010:
* Gabriel will find someone to help create line drawings for this CR and an email sub-team will discuss this CR in depth.
* The attachment wording that references making it right for shelf space planning should be removed

Approved GSMP Standards

The following standards Change Requests have been approved and will be deployed in a future release
CR 09-103 - Round 9 eBallot GDSN BRG - Validation Rules 513 515, 524-530
These are recommendations that  today are codified in the GDSN Operations Manual and they are now being made official GDSN validation rules. General Note: CR 09-103 consolidates under a single work-order change requests numbers 08-230, 08-245 and 08-249 submitted by GS1 Australia, GS1 Netherlands and GS1 Sweden. This eBallot  contains a link to CR 09-103 in the CR system, The VR 513 515, 524-530 summary spreadsheet  and the Business Requirement Spreadsheet. CR 09-264 GDSN BRG
Enables GDSN data recipients to calculate comparative price for a daily dose. To achieve this data sources must be able to indicate the price comparison content expressed as number of daily doses.  A proposed solution is to add the following code value to PriceComparisonContentTypeList: PER_DAILY_DOSE - Specified using PCE as unit of measure (price per daily dose).Currently a set of attributes in Trade Item can be used to indicate a measurement that is used for calculation of comparison prices, i.e. for display on shelf labels. The definition of priceComparisonMeasurement is ”The quantity of the product at usage. Applicable for concentrated products and products where the comparison price is calculated based on a measurement other than netContent. This field is dependent on the population of priceComparisonContentType and is required when priceComparisonContentType is used.” Some examples of current values for priceComparisonContentType are:
PER_DOSE Specified using PCE as unit of measure.
PER_KILOGRAM Specified using GRM as unitOfMeasure (price per kg).
PER_LITRE Specified using MLT as unitOfMeasure (price per litre).
PER_LOAD Specified using PCE as unit of measure (price per load - used for washing up powder).
PER_METRE Specified using MMT as unitOfMeasure

10-038 Public Review, GDSN BRG
The Public Review for CR 10-038 begins Mar-11-2010 and ends Mar-25-2010. Proposal: 05-Feb-2010: The attribute householdServingSize should be renamed to servingSizeDescription – Definition: A Free text field specifying the serving size for which the nutrient information has been stated for example: per 1/3 cup (42 g).  The original name implies the term household of which the attribute has no applicability.  The attribute is defined as the textual representation of the serving size as it appears on the trade item’s label.  The name should be changed to be more reflective of what the attribute represents.

10-044 Public Review, GDSN BRG
The Public Review for CR 10-044 begins Mar-11-2010 and ends Mar-25-2010. Proposal: 13-Feb-2010: The trade item needs the ability to define and provide information on GTINs which are parents of a pallet (Ex. Truck Load, Container, Rail Car, Ship, etc).  To accomplish this the trade item unit descriptor needs to be expanded to include a descriptor for the parent of a pallet.  It is proposed to name this generic unit “Transport Load” so as to allow for the various types of parents there may be called.  There will also need to be a change to the validation rules to allow a pallet to have a parent.  It is also recommended to allow this new descriptor to have a parent as well.  This will allow for growth as you could have 20 pallets in a container, and 2 containers in a rail car.

10-060 Public Review, GDSN BRG
The Public Review for CR 10-060 begins Mar-11-2010 and ends Mar-25-2010. Proposal: 15-Feb-2010: The
PriceComparisonContentTypeCodeList from the BMS Trade Item "5.3. Internal Code Lists" section needs a review and clarification.
A)   The usage of unit of measures is inconsistent in this code list which could cause master data inconsistencies. For example: the definition of PER_LITRE is "Specified using MLT as unitOfMeasure (price per litre)." If this a a "per litre" price comparison and the definition is "price per litre" then the suggested UoM can't be MLT. Please consider using only one sizing of the same measure type (PER_LITRE = only LT is acceptable).
B)   Also the short forms 'MMT', 'MLT', etc. are outdated, according to the '7.2. External Code Lists' section these are 'MM', 'ML', etc.
This public review contains the CR 10-060 business requirements spreadsheet including the revised code definitions and a link to CR 10-060 in the CR system.  Please make your comments 4 PM ET on 25-Mar-2010 Close of Public Review. Simple LOI 1: Link to CR 10-060 Public Review

GSMP eBallots (8)

For GSMP/GDSN Business Requirements Group (BRG) members who are eligible to vote, the following eBallots have been posted in the GS1 Community Room:
10-001 eBallot, GDSN BRG
The eBallot for CR 10-001 if motioned to eBallot by the GDSN BRG on Mar-9-2010 should begin Mar-10-2010 and ends Mar-24-2010. 001 Proposal: Add an optional attribute to the Incoterms Subclass currently in the Price message; this attribute will support the ISO country code in which the Incoterms action occurs. This subclass will then be added to core item. Interim deployment as a Fast Track attribute is requested. Expected Benefits: This attribute is needed to determine who will be responsible for customs, tariffs, and other associated responsibilities of importing the trade item. This can be different by Trading Partner. Risks: The retailer needs this information in order to determine which party is responsible for customs, tariffs, and other associated responsibilities of importing a trade item. Business Function/Purpose: This is needed to help describe at what point in the supply chain the retailer has taken ownership of a trade item to determine whether or not the Trade It  em is considered to be imported on behalf of the retail or the vendor. Example: If the product is manufactured in China, then the Origin Country would reflect China, but if the Vendor imports the item to United States and a United States retailer takes ownership of Trade item in United States, then Trade Item Export Country of Origin would be United States. This attribute is needed to determine who will be responsible for customs, tariffs, and other associated responsibilities of importing the trade item. This can be different by Trading Partner.

              stored in the distribution centre.
D2C       Direct to Consumer: The supplier delivers the goods direct to the end
              consumer’s location.
DC         Distribution Centre: The supplier delivers the goods to the retailers’
              distribution centre. The goods are typically warehoused in the distribution
              centre prior to distribution.

* Warehouse
* Warehouse and DSD
* Drop Ship.
