Call-To-Action: GDSN  Maintenance Release 2.4 Work Group

This annual workgroup will support the inclusion of GDSN Simple Change request with a Level of Impact of 1 & 2 for inclusion in the next GDSN Maintenance Release 2.4. Their first call will be 15-Jun-2009 at 10 AM ET.

Public Review: GDSN BRG, WO 08-000291

The Public review for CR 08-291 begins 14-May-2009 and ends 31-May-2009 shortened due to MR 2.4.  Proposal:  Review and update section 9.2. (Appendix in the Trade Item BMS to update the definition and usage of "Common to all Levels of Hierarchy" and to review the "Common to All Levels of Hierarchy" classification of each attribute in the Trade Item . We then move this chart which will no longer be part of the BMS but be added to the Trade Item Implementation Guidelines.The attributes in the following would have to be looked at:

Public Review: GDSN BRG, WO 09-000037

The Public review for CR 09-037 begins 14-May-2009 and ends 31-May-2009.
Proposal:  Change the Trade Item Country of Origin to allow for the usage of Geographical Region and Composition codes defined by the UN . These coincide with the ISO 3166-1 numeric codes but extend them to handle geographic regions. Country of origin will be repeatable and while the data type technically changes, it remains a string and is the same as the current implementation which uses a UN managed code list at the following link: http://unstats.un.org/unsd/methods/m49/m49regin.htm. This will not affect any other attributes using the ISO 3166-1 data type (e.g. Target Market).

The Public review for CR 09-082 begins 14-May-2009 and ends 15-June-2009. CR 09-082 Proposal: CR 09-082 (Bundled with CIC Response Project CR 07-436):
A)   Change the current CIC State of "Accepted" to "Received"
   Replace the current CIC Status Codes, CIC 001 thru CIC 018 with the proposed
       CIC Status Code (see attachment for details)
C)   Enhance current Corrective Action Codes/Descriptions with minor changes and
       Add one additional Corrective

Enhancements to the GSMP Change Request System

    
The GSMP Change Request (CR) System continues to be the entry point for requests to improve the GS1 standards.

Based on feedback provided by the GSMP community, the following important enhancements are being implemented:
 
  * Guest Password - Don't have an account? Then use the login credentials of
     Guest/Guest to view the Change Requests in the system (view access only).
    
  * New filter added - Tired of the long list of requests when you view requests?
     Then filter your view! Enter the date range  of requests you would like to view in
     the "All Requests by CR/WO Number"
 
 * Group work queue enhanced (available under "By Group&quot - Choose a BRG
     (i.e.  eCom or GDSN) and view its current work queue, # of days as a CR/WO, 
     status, or notes about the request  - all in a quick at glance view!
